Dive into Festival Summer

Festivals

I have to admit, I am a fan of traditions. They were never planned, but they slowly but surely snake in during my travel adventures the past ten years I guess. One of them for sure how I open up my very own festival season, it’s as easy as going out and buy a cup of coffee on my way out in the morning by now, it does not require any big planning or effort, clicking on various “Book Now” buttons is more than enough. This past May, as every other year, was my month and THE month – I mean, come on, the summer breeze overcomes most places already, my bags for Amsterdam are packed and my birthday is another sweet add on, can it get any better than that?

Sleep well, Party Lion.

Europe, Switzerland, travel, TRAVEL

I play tourist here in my home country Switzerland quite often, it usually lead me to some breathtaking mountain sceneries and I took refreshing dips in different lakes, but I never thought about to be more centered into my base that is Zurich. You know how it is, you know your city, it’s mostly great, you have your habits and routines, however, you are more keen to escape it and share your travelling stories from elsewhere. Well, this time is quite different I guess: a lot of you out there know Zurich for its polished banks, the old town and a huge lake, but there is a lot more, especially for those who want to live a bit into the night, exploring restaurants, bars and clubs. I got you covered.

Ciao belli!

I know this has been a strict travel and festival blog for quite some years now, so with time passing, I felt the urge to spice up the things a little. If you’re following me on my Instagram account, you’d might know that besides putting on my dirty festival boots and almost mutating into a suitcase myself, another one of my beloved hobbies is food. I could go on forever with talking about how great this can be, but I guess I’ll leave it for another occasion. My Boho Bliss section is been quite silent for a while, so I proudly decided to share some yummy things in here and maybe talk about some little health routines I do for myself as well. If this will also include some recipes and showcasing my poor chopping skills I’m not sure, time will tell, I’ll go with my guts.

Festivals

During my 10+ years spent in and out of Switzerland at different festivals and music venues, I think I got a pretty decent overview, especially when it comes to Europe. I don’t know it all, I still have a ton of events on my bucket list, but I’ve certainly encountered some interesting settings along the way. There were places I visited once and festivals I go back every year, for their uniqueness in terms of line up, scenery and organization. April means we can surely start to say goodbye to the winter chills and welcome some sun on our faces, but April also means that Zermatt closes the iced up season with a bang.

Brighton: London’s better version (?)

Brighton, Europe, travel, TRAVEL, UK

I tried to use my spare time during winter darkness wisely, because let’s face it: even if the lit candles are nice and the red wines warming, there’s nothing more awesome than planning a bit ahead for the upcoming sunny season. I have to admit, I’m quite clueless about the UK, despite a gazillion times in London and a short visit to Manchester, I’ve rarely been there. Because brrr… cold and rainy mostly.

Ho ho ho! Win a Stay in Lisbon!

Europe, Portugal, travel, TRAVEL

I couldn’t end this blogging year without a bang! Dear readers close and far, I hope you all had a blast during the start of this holiday season! I still have a couple of stories to share with you about my travels, but first I want to leave you with a treat.

Ericeira: Rearrangements and Exploring

Beach, Europe, Photography, Portugal, travel, TRAVEL

Sometimes everything gets tight. Situations, people, life events- the list could be endless. And when things turn out this way, people tend to cope with it differently. You know, going out getting smashed, locking up at home, writing a diary, taking a selfie with an inspirational quote they just googled and never heard about before, the usual stuff. I booked myself a solo trip to Portugal.

Motel One Basel: Art. Culture. Sleeping under the Stars.

Basel, Europe, Switzerland, travel, TRAVEL

It’s quite common when I’m attending events or concerts in Basel, that I have no chance to get back home to Zurich after 10pm. This lead to an excessive touring of different housing places and hotels in the city. I can’t tell you I tried all of those beds already, but I can tell you for sure that the most hotels I’ve visited so far while travelling through Switzerland are located in Basel. And if it wasn’t for an event, I had an outbound flight at 6am – I guess there’s no more yikes than that.

Lisbon: Stay. Eat. Enjoy.

Europe, Portugal, travel, TRAVEL

I’ll do a reverse thing here. My stay in Portugal goes way back to mid September, and I promised you to talk about it. The only thing I’m going to do that might seems a bit weird is starting to write about my journey from the very ending. Why? Well, it feels right and to be honest, one of those three articles will be a little more personal and requires some extra time to write and adjust. In addition to that, the start should be bright and beautiful, that’s the reason why I’d like to present you a true gem in the very center of Lisbon, which was perfect to end my trip. And ending with a bang, as many people say.

Baloise Session 2016 – BOY (CH/DE) & Kaiser Chiefs (UK): Indie Sounds

BOY, Concerts, Kaiser Chiefs, Music

On my second night strolling around Basel, everything was buzzing a little more: the quiet of the week before was replaced by the Autumn’s Fair flashing lights and the horrendously loud remixes of pop songs turned into EDM nightmares. Sorry, had to add that. Fortunately for me, Basel embraced me for another reason: my second evening at Baloise Session. After a dance to electro swing and 80s synthie, now it was the case of long awaited Indie Sounds night, starring two completely different bands: BOY and Kaiser Chiefs.
